24 Hour Critical Incident Hotline: 877-IFOP-911

By Mark Russillo, Field Representative - Wednesday, January 16, 2013

Gillespie Police Officers recently settled a 2-year contract during difficult times for the City.  Though there will be no wage increases for the 2-year contract, the Officers were able to get some concessions from the City.  In spite of insistence by the City that its Health Insurance contributions be capped and the Officers would assume responsibility for any new increases, the officers were able to fend off this proposal and instead get the City to adopt Health Insurance Advisory Committee language.  There will also be 2 additional longevity increments at 25 and 30 years for 3% at each increment.  In addition, Officers will no longer be required to pick up and detain stray animals unless they are deemed to be vicious or the incident involves a dog bite.  Field Representative Mark Russillo was assisted by Bargaining Committee Members:  Josh Schlidknecht and Jassen Stinnett.
