A three year agrement was reached with the City of Paxton and the Paxton Police Unit #779. The agreement calls for wage increases in the amount of 2.5% in year of the contract. A residency requirement was negotiated allowing employees to live within a six (6) mile radius of City Hall.  The parties negotiated changes to the lay-off provisions of the agreement; new provisions for shift bidding; changed the probationary period from 12 to 18 months with the provision the employees base wage is increased after 12 months of service; changes to the health insurance language; and change the way holidays were to be paid.The negotiations committee members were Doug Balk and Bob Jones assisted by IL FOP Field Representative Dave Nixon.
