Contract negotiations with the Village of Lansing have historically been a difficult task. This round of negotiations was no exception.  Telecommunicators in Lansing faced steep obstacles in achieving their goals of improved pay and better working conditions as the Village demanded concessions and take backs.  Overall, the union was successful in achieving modest gains, but the work was laborious.  Ultimately, the union recouped some sick leave benefits that were lost in the last round of negotiations, improvements in the scheduling of days off and distribution of overtime and wage increases totaling 5.25% over the three-year life of the contract.  The bargaining team consisted of Joe Augustyniak, Cynthia Griffiths and Carlos Devila. Labor Council Field Representative Keith Turney assisted.
