By Mark Russillo, Field Representative - Tuesday, May 17, 2016

Edgar County Sheriffs Department employees (Dispatchers & Jailers) recently settled a contract with wage increases of 6.25% over 2 years.  Longevity increased from 3% to 3.5% on all increments. There is now a $0.60/hour premium for L.E.A.D.S. Coordinator. In addition, probationary employees will now receive holidays and personal days.  Employee co-insurance payment was modestly increased. Clarifying language changes were made to overtime language, pay equalization and insurance sections of the contract.  The parties agreed to hold periodic labor-management meetings regarding the use of overtime. The employer has also given a guarantee of no layoffs for the duration of the contract.
