The Oak Park CSO bargaining team had to deal with the up-coming Affordable Care Act “Cadillac Tax” and the Employer’s desire for our members to agree to not limit the right of the Village to unilaterally make any and all changes it deems necessary in order for the insurance it provides pursuant to this Agreement to comply with the Affordable Care Act (“ACA”), and other state, federal or local insurance and/or health care reform legislation. We were successful in not having such text be placed in the successor Labor Agreement. In addition, the team successfully negotiated a wage increase of 5% over the term of the Labor Agreement and an increase in the number of sick leave hours that may be used for sickness in the family.

I want to thank the negotiation team: Joshua Dennis, Maceo Somerville our unit Stewards and Roy Carlson FOP Labor Council Attorney for there commitment and dedication to the process.
