The Oak Park Police Command unit successfully locked in a three-year wage Agreement which reflected the rate of inflation.  Wage increases at Steps 10 and 15 at 2.5% retroactive to Januay 1, 2014 for 2014 and 2.5% in 2015 and 2.75% for 2016.  The Team was able to negotiate a uniform employee annual contribution to the PEHP plan to $750 over 24 equal pay periods and new language that allows retiring employees with a sick leave balance of 1500 hour to contribute forty (40) hours of that unused sick time to their PEHP.  Additionally, the Team agreed to reduce employee alcohol testing to 0.02 from 0.08, but above the City attempts for a 0.00 standard.  Clothing Allowance was increased to $900 and will be paid in two annual installments directly to the officers.  Lastly, the Educational Incentives were increased to annual lump sum payments.  Bachelor's Degree is $2100 (increased from $1080) and Master's Degree to $2300 (increase from $1320).  Bargaining Team members Tom Dransoff and Don Silva were assisted by Labor Council Attorney Kimkea' Harris.
