By Dave Nixon, Field Representative - Thursday, July 3, 2014

Bond County Sheriff's Office Unit 1-Deputies and Unit 2-Correctional Officers and Telecommunicators reached a three year agreement for a new contract which expires in 2015.  The contract calls for wage increases of $0.50 per hour in the first year, $0.75 per hour in the second year and $0.65 per hour in year three.  Canine compensaton of one-half hour per day through schedule adjustment on work days and one-half hour pay compenstion at the OT rate for non work days was added to the contract.  The contract calls for employees to pay $40 per month for the cost of single healtcare; with other possible increases in drug do-pay and annual deductibles.  A 12-hour shift schedule was implemented for patrol deputies.  Employees can now voluntarily donate sick leave to another employee who has exhausted their sick leave due to serious illness.  Field Representative David Nixon assisted the unit during the negotiations.
