Beardstown Police made some good gains in negotiations this past year.  Two big issues are overtime sharing and minimum safe staffing.  In prior years, all overtime was first offered to part-time officers; full-time officers were offered what was left, if any.  Now, full-time will be included in the turn sheet and will get to work up to three shifts per month, more if the shifts go unfilled by the part-time officers.  Minimum safe staffing was also agreed, with a two officer guarantee at all times.  Insurance payments increased.  Residency was amended to 10 miles for new hires, with 30 miles the maximum allowed for current employees.  Wages increased by up to 3% in year one and 2% in the second year  Beardstown FOP was represented by Rodney Wilson and Travis Birdsell, with Labor Council Field Representative Doug Crawford assisting.
