The Sangamon County Sheriff's Deputies, Sergeants, Lieutenants and Court Security Officers reached a tentative agreement late last year that was recently executed when final details concerning the sell back of sick leave were resolved.  The bargaining committee of John Hayes, Rodney Vose, Brad Baughman, Jeff Vanhoos, Jim Tapscott, Scott Butterfield and Alex Davenport held their ground in the face of countless proposed take backs, and protracted negotiations - bringing home a fully retroactive deal for 12% salary increases over three years.  New hires will be started on a scale more in keeping with the average of the comparables, but the matrix includes a 3.75% increase in both 2013 and 2014, as well as maintaining the current percentage based longevity.  The agreement also provides that new hires will pay 50% of their retirees insurance, codifies shift bidding by seniority for all unit employees and several other minor language changes.
