Congratulations to the Bellwood patrol Bargaining Team of Corey O'Neal, Shawn Clark, Warren Hernandez, David Byerley, Miguel Herrera and Randal Buckner.  For the second consecutive contract negotiations, impasse was reached, and an arbitrator had to be brought in to rule on the outstanding issues.  This time wages, insurance discipline and term of Agreement were outstanding issues.  As with any arbitration, it is difficult to prevail on all items.  In this case, the arbitrator ruled in favor of the Village's final wage offer, with the Union prevailing on the other three issues (insurance, discipline (all grievable) and term of Agreement.)  As disappointing as the decision may have been, it was good to have finality, and begin looking optimistically to the future, with the upcoming negotiations.  The bargaining team is to be commended for their hard work, perserverance and dedication in attaining this new Agreement.
