John Bucholz, Pete Chacon and Brian Cluever of the Carol Stream Police Department recently negotiated a new Collective Bargaining Agreement for their members.  It is a three (3) year agreement with an overall 8% increase in wages over its term.  The unit was scheduled to go to interest arbitration over the Village's insistence to include language in the agreement that would give the Village the unilateral right to change insurance should it deem necessary.  The bargaining team held strong in its position that it would not include that language in the agreement.  As the arbitration date drew closer the parties' came to a resolution that provided the Village certain flexibility with the insurance while maintaining current plans and similar benefit levels for members.  They were assisted by Attorney Aaron Janik of the IL FOP Labor Council.
