After just a few months of bargaining Glendale Heights Sergeants have agreed on a new 2-year contract.  Wages increased 4.5% over the term.  Employees may now deposit up to 1000 hours of sick at 100% of the value of those hours into the newly created Sergeants Retirement Health Savings (RHS) Plan.  All hours over 1000 each year shall also go into the plan. Employees are now eligible for severance pay upon retirement.  Compensatory Time was increased to 200 hours and employees not get compensated for passing a voluntary Physical Fitness Test.  Insurance costs were only marginally increased.
