Below are the remarks of FOP Lodge President Glen Wagner:

I  would like to take this opportunity to recognize one of our union members.  Cory will you please come up front.  For those of you who don’t know on April 14th Cory responded to Bellflower for a woman who took an overdose.  While en route  updates were given on the women’s status and prior to Corey’s arrival the woman stopped breathing and had no pulse. Upon arriving on scene he immediately started CPR and directed other family members who were on scene to assist.  Prior to rescue’s arrival and due to Corey’s actions he was able to bring the woman back to life!  She is alive and well today due to Corey and his actions. Sgt’s Welsch and Tate gave Corey a letter of commendation.  It is my opinion this is better than any case or arrest that can be made and needs to be recognized appropriately.  Cory you saved a life.  On behalf of FOP Lodge 176 I am proud to give you this Life Saving Award.  Good Job.
