24 Hour Critical Incident Hotline: 877-IFOP-911

By Doug Crawford, Field Representative - Wednesday, June 19, 2013

The new five year contract for Western IL University Police Officers and Telecommunicators brings a total of 11% on base wages over its term.  Overtime provisions were updated, now allowing a "zero out" each year, along with changes to how vacancies can be filled.  Discrimination claims are not grievable.  New bereavement and parental leave terms are in place, giving more paid time off for family death or births/adoption.  Much time was devoted in an attempt to bargain 12 hour shifts for the bargaining unit, but ultimately this effort did not succeed.  Bargaining team members were Guy Huston, James VanVlymen, Stan Mercer, Ted Anderson and Carrie Bishop, assisted by IL FOP Labor Council Representative Doug Crawford.
