The Jefferson County Correctional Officers, despite having a majority of their unit laid off, successfully negotiated a Contract that allows them to work a 12-hour shift with day-for-day benefit accrual.  They locked in a one-year Contract which deferred wage negotiation until the fall, and established a new unit title, gained holiday benefits on the actual holidays, and increased their layoff and work-jurisdiction rights, as well as clarifying their overtime, minimum staffing and transport protocols.
